(Yicai Global) Sep. 4 -- China Guangzhou International Economic & Technical Cooperation has won the bid to participate in the reconstruction of the Dharahara Tower that caved in during an earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2015.
Guangzhou International Economic & Technical Cooperation will rebuild the tower with a local construction company, state-backed Xinhua News Agency reported, citing the National Reconstruction Authority of Nepal.
Dharahara, also called as Bhimsen Tower is in the city center of Kathmandu and its construction started 180 years ago. It is the highest building in the Kathmandu Valley but was destroyed during the earthquake in April 2015.
Founded in 1986, China Guangzhou International Economic & Technical Cooperation is a subsidiary of southern China's Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group.
