(Yicai Global) June 12 -- China Energy Engineering Corp has signed a cooperation agreement with ACWA Power in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, under which the pair will work together closely in power generation, seawater desalination and other relevant investment and development, construction and operation projects, Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.

"CEE is an integrated power solution provider with global influence. ACWA Power is one of our key partners. The relevant work is well underway regarding the financing of and investment in a coal-fired power plant in Nam Dinh, Vietnam, which ACWA Power and CEE's China Gezhouba Group International Engineering co-developed," said CEE chairman Wang Jianping.

CEE hopes to bring its strengths in the relevant industrial chain and full life-cycle services to bear to provide one-stop integrated solutions for ACWA Power in investment and development, planning, consulting and design, and construction and operation, Wang said.

ACWA Power is a private developer, investor and operator of power generation and seawater desalination projects with investment from the Saudi Arabian government. The company mainly invests in that kingdom, the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa and Vietnam. It has built and operated 40 projects, with a combined installed capacity of 22 gigawatts, and has assets under management of over USD33 billion.
