(Yicai Global) April 11 -- China's Efort Intelligent Equipment expects to gain around USD25.5 million by providing industrial robots to Volkswagen's only plant in the United States that manufactures Passat sedans and Atlas sport-utility vehicle models.
A Polish unit of Efort received an order of smart production equipment from the German carmaker's US subsidiary to be used in its factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the Shanghai-based firm said in a statement yesterday. The robots will be applied in an upgrade of a production line that makes front and rear doors for Atlas NF and Atlas Cross Sport NF models. The contract is expected to be valid till 2026.
The value of the deal equals around 13 percent of the company’s unaudited revenue for last year, so it is predicted to have positive but not significant impacts on its performance between this year and 2026, the firm added.
Efort's stock price [SHA: 688165] climbed as much as 2.5 percent intraday but closed at CNY10.01 (USD1.50), up 0.2 percent.
