(Yicai Global) Feb. 17 -- China Eastern Industry Investment, a unit of China Eastern Airlines, has become a new shareholder of Cosco Shipping Logistics and Supply Chain Management through the international logistics provider’s Series A financing round.

After the fundraiser, Cosco Shipping Logistics’ registered capital nearly doubled to CNY1.6 billion (USD232.7 million) from CNY850 million, according to corporate information platform Tianyancha. Seven other new investors, including Shanghai International Port Group, also took part.

China Eastern Industry invested in the Hainan International Carbon Emission Trading Center last July, becoming the latter’s third-largest shareholder with a 15 percent stake. It has also taken stakes in Air France-KLM, Juneyao Airlines, China Continent Insurance, and Avic Mobile Technology.
