(Yicai Global) Nov. 21 -- Dajin Heavy Industry, the world’s largest maker of wind turbine towers and structural products for offshore wind power projects, is tying up with Empire Engineering, a leading UK engineering services provider in the wind energy sector, to expand in the Chinese and European markets.
The pair aim at a long-term partnership for offshore wind platform development, according to a recently signed agreement, Beijing-based Dajin Heavy said in a statement today, adding that Empire Engineering's brand influence in Europe can promote sales of Dajin's products there.
For its part, Dajin Heavy will use its influence in the Chinese wind power market to help Empire Engineering expand its technical consulting services in China, by working with Dajin's domestic clients in areas such as wind power structure design, construction, transportation and installation, it added.
In the past three weeks, Dajin Heavy has secured three orders worth a combined EUR196 million (USD201.5 million) for the supply of structural parts for European offshore wind projects. A deal last week was for 41 sets of wind power tower tubes for Dogger Bank, the world’s largest offshore wind farm located off the northeast coast of England.
Bristol-based Empire Engineering is a well-known engineering technology company specializing in wind turbine frame design. It has provided technical consulting services to most of the major wind power firms in Europe, Dajin Heavy said.
Shares of Dajin Heavy [SHE: 002487] ended flat today at CNY45.87 (USD6.40) each.
