(Yicai Global) April 19 -- Shares in Cosonic Intelligent Technologies advanced as much as 4 percent today after the Chinese electro-acoustics product maker said it is teaming up with Shenzhen Lochn Optics Technology to make augmented-reality glasses.
Cosonic’s share price [SHE:300793] was trading up 0.8 percent at CNY18.56 (USD2.70). Earlier in the day it hit CNY19.15.
Lochn Optics will provide the optical waveguide modules, a key component in AR glasses, and Cosonic will serve as the original design manufacturer, Dongguan, southern Guangdong province-based Cosonic said yesterday, citing the strategic cooperation framework signed by the two parties on April 18.
No details were given about the investment amount, splitting of profits, location of the new factory, annual capacity, product specs nor the construction schedule. But intellectual property ownership and confidentiality clauses are laid out in the contract, Cosonic said.
AR glasses have great market prospects and Lochn Optics, which is a leader in optical waveguide modules and whose factory in Shenzhen is the country’s only production line with stable output, promises to prioritize Cosonic in terms of ODM and customer referrals, Cosonic said.
