(Yicai Global) Sept. 28 -- China Consumers Association (CCA), which monitors goods and services to protect the rights and interests of consumers, has introduced an after-sales telephone query service, to provide accurate information and expose bogus manufacturers and fraudulent operators.
Consumers now can get accurate and detailed contact information for a manufacturer, brand or after-sales service by logging on CCA's official website (www.cca.org.cn), clicking on the "query system" link and inputting brand or manufacturer's name in the search box, China News Service reported.
At present, the "query system" mainly yields contact information of range hoods, cooking range, water heater, air-conditioning and other product brands which are closely related to consumers' daily life and health and safety. CCA will continuously expand producer and service provider directory in the system.
The issue of bogus after-sales services in the appliances field not only infringes the rights and interests of consumers, but also endangers their health and safety. Due to large ownership of such appliances, it creates substantial demand for maintenance, including on-site one. Bogus manufacturers and after-sales services undertaking such maintenance pose serious risks for consumers.
The newly-introduced telephone query system will expose inaccurate manufacturer and after-sales service contact information, which subjects consumers to significant losses, and will better protect the rights and interests of consumers.
