China Completes Independently Developed High-Throughput 3D Bio-Printer China Completes Independently Developed High-Throughput 3D Bio-Printer

(Yicai Global) Nov. 24 -- A team of scientists from several Chinese regions yesterday released the nation's first high-throughput integrated 3D biological printer, marking the highest level of 3D bio-printing in the country.

The development shows that China's research in the field has advanced after international rivals surpassed the country, state-owned news agency Xinhua reported.

The printer integrates more than 50 technical innovations, said Prof. Xu Ming'en, chief scientist for the project and chairman of Hangzhou Regenovo Biotechnology Co. Its print head is compatible with a range of printing principles and supports multichannel coordination, allowing the mass production of medical products.

Chinese scientists and engineers independently developed the printer, from the underlying principles through to the realization of the technology.

The successful development of the 3D printer has boosted clinical transformation in 3D-printed medical devices and artificial organs and also provided a new solution for the screening of new drugs, which will encourage the advancement of new medicines in China, said the expert panel from the nation's National Key Research and Development Programs.
