(Yicai Global) July 27 -- Companies are advised to make prudent decisions about outbound investment in real estate, hotels, cinemas, entertainment and sports clubs, said Gao Feng, spokesman for China's commerce ministry.

A reporter asked at a press conference the ministry held today, whether the ministry, which overseas China's foreign investment, is aware of any risks or problems that Dalian Wanda Group Co. has encountered in overseas investment, given that China recently stepped up its scrutiny of foreign investment.

The ministry of commerce supports domestic companies in conducting real and compliant overseas investments per market principles and international norms, particularly international capacity building partnerships, corporate investment that promotes industrial restructuring and upgrade and those in furtherance of the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative, Gao said without answering the question of whether Wanda has encountered problems in overseas investment. The commerce ministry will continue to work with relevant departments to guard against foreign investment risks to ensure the healthy and standardized development of China's outbound investment activities, he added.
