(Yicai Global) May 22 -- China's Sichuan Changhong Electric will invest CNY1.9 billion (USD275.4 million) to build an intelligent production line in Mianyang city in Sichuan province to produce display products, including flat-panel TV sets and display terminals for Internet of Things, the major TV set maker announced late on May 20.

The production line will be finished in two years and is designed with upgraded accessory processing technologies to produce 6 million intelligent display terminals and 7 million IOT display terminals such as digital TVs and auto electronic display terminals per year, per the plan.

Technologies in the firm's existing production lines are growing outdated and limited venues have restricted its expansion, per the Mianyang-based firm's announcement, which added that the smart production line will improve its product variety, replace old capacity and greatly cut costs with intelligent product assembly, logistics and industrial internet technologies to arrange production directly based on user demand and achieve user-centered customized design and production on demand.
