(Yicai Global) Nov. 26 -- China CAMC Engineering received advance payment from the government of Malanje province in northwestern Angola on Nov. 23, thus activating previously-signed contracts for two local construction projects.
The Beijing-based international engineering contractor announced this yesterday but released no details as to the amount of the payment or its proportion to the total USD78 million contract price.
The agreement involves the construction of a youth center and dredging the Malanje River, per the announcement.
The youth center, which has a value of USD44 million, will require building an auditorium, training and office buildings and ancillary facilities, with a construction period of 18 months.
The dredging work, whose value is USD33 million, will rebuild and clear the river channel over 12 months.
The two parties signed these agreements on July 17 last year.
