(Yicai Global) May 3 -- China's domestically-made large aircraft, the C919, will make its maiden flight on May 5 at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
News 90.9's official Weibo account confirmed the flight will take place on Friday, citing an invitation from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. (COMAC), the plane's producer.
China has been developing the C919 since 2008. The aircraft completed taxiing tests last month. The aircraft has a capacity of 155 seats, with a standard range of 4,075 kilometers and maximum range of 5,555 kilometers. Some 570 orders have been received.
COMAC has plans to develop long-range wide-bodied airliners with 280 seats and a designed air-range of 12,000 kilometers.
