(Yicai Global) Oct. 29 -- Chinese authorities have implemented more than 20 measures to facilitate the first China International Import Expo, which starts this week in Shanghai.

China will use CIIE to explore the normalization of bonded exhibitions and sales to turn more import exhibits into commodities, Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong told Xinhua News Agency at the 30th International Business Leader's Advisory Council in the city yesterday.

Shanghai is putting the finishing touches on preparations for the first CIIE which will open on November 5. More than 80 countries, regions and international organizations have confirmed their participation and more than 2,800 companies from more than 130 countries and regions have confirmed their participation.

CIIE is the world's first expo to be held with the theme of imports. China aims to use the event to further open its market to the world. It will present emerging applications-based technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, Orit Gadiesh, Bain & Company's Chairperson, said at the meeting yesterday.
