China's Bourses End Mixed With Highest Stock Turnover in 11 Months

(Yicai Global) Feb. 21 -- China's mainland bourses reversed their ascending paths in the afternoon to return close to zero in terms of gains. Trading volume peaked since last March. 

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.34 percent down at 2,751.80 points, with a market volume of CNY253 billion (USD37.8 billion). The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.26 percent to 8,451.71, with CNY365.7 billion worth of equities changing hands. The total trading volume was CNY620 billion.

The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, gave back most of its afternoon gains to end at 1,412.54, 0.30 percent up, with a CNY10.8 billion stock turnover. 

Shares related to precious metals rose 2.76 percent and those of fifth-generation wireless technology companies climbed 1.92 percent, being some of the most victorious sectors today.
