(Yicai Global) June 6 -- Didi Chuxing, China's largest car-hailing platform, has expanded its operations in Latin America to include Chile and Colombia. It already serves the Brazilian and Mexican markets.

Didi has kicked off services in Valparaiso, Chile's second-largest city, and in Bogota, the capital of Colombia, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement yesterday. It is the most far-reaching Chinese online-to-offline firm in Latin America and has served 140 million people in the region so far, according to the Beijing News.

The company has established partnerships with Grab, Ola and Lyft to build a global network that reaches over 80 percent of the world's population across more than 1,000 cities. With its 31 million ride-hailing drivers and 2 million taxi chauffeurs, Didi Chuxing delivers 10 billion trips a year across Asia, Latin America and Australia.
