(Yicai Global) May 12 -- China's mobile phone shipments rose in April while fifth-generation wireless network handsets accounted for 39 percent of the total, according to government data.
Phone shipments climbed 14 percent to 41.7 million units over the month from a year ago, a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said today.
From January to April, total shipments declined by 20 percent to 90.7 million units from a year earlier. 5G phones made up 33 percent of that.
