(Yicai Global) Oct. 25 -- Chen Qiutu, President of CEFC China Energy Co. met in Moscow with Andrei Kostin, President and Chairman of the Management Committee of VTB Group, where they reached a consensus on future cooperation.

The ninth international investment forum 'Russia Calling' was held in Moscow on Oct. 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the event where he delivered a speech. Chen Qiutu, President of CEFC China Energy was invited to participate, and also made a speech, jjckb.xinhuanet.com reported.

Belt and Road construction and the Eurasian economic alliance cooperate smoothly, Chen noted in his speech. In this context, CEFC China has formed a strategic partnership with Rosneft Oil Co. [MOEX:ROSN].

CEFC China is willing to work with Russian partners, including Rosneft and VTB Group, to fully promote the development of Sino-Russian economic and trade relations, and better serve the precise synergy between the Belt and Road initiative and Eurasian economic alliance strategy, Chen said.

CEFC China Energy will invest USD9.1 billion to acquire a more than 14% share in Rosneft, enabling it to secure 260,000 barrels of Russian oil per day, thus ranking it among the world's top ten oil traders, it announced last month.
