(Yicai Global) Sep. 11 -- Contemporary Amperex Technology, the world's biggest electric-car battery maker and better known as CATL, has awarded a contract for battery-making equipment to Zhuoyu Automation Technology.

Zhuoyu has won the bidding for a CNY55 million (USD8.1 million) contract for a heat press machine used in lithium battery manufacturing, the Shenzhen-based firm said in a statement.

The firm will deliver the machine to CATL before the end of next January and the two parties will discuss future cooperation opportunities and a possible formal supply contract.

The contact will help Zhuoyu to improve its market position and overall competitiveness, as well as having a positive effect on the company's bottom line.
