(Yicai Global) March 12 -- Contemporary Amperex Technology will join hands with Baicheng New Energy Technology, a leading private charging station operator, to leverage intelligent technologies developed by the major Chinese new energy vehicle battery maker.

The new technology can solve urban charging stations' storage and distribution issues while providing clients with fast service, The Paper reported, citing Ningde-based CATL. 

CATL has 49 percent of the joint venture's equity and Baicheng the remainder, Tianyancha business registration platform shows. The JV's registered capital is CNY50 million (USD7.2 million). 

Founded in 2014, Baicheng is one of China's top five non-state-owned charging station operators, according to its website. The Fujian province-based firm already has outlets in Shanghai, as well as in eastern Jiangsu, Zhejiang, southern Guangdong, and Central Henan provinces.
