(Yicai Global) June 13 -- The Chinese market is crucial, and Canon wants the biggest share of its business to be in China, said Ozawa Hideki, chairman and chief executive of Canon (China), state Xinhua News Agency reported.
The country is a key trading partner for Japan, and vice versa, Hideki noted. China is also a very important market for Canon, which has steadily scaled up its operations and brought good products to it.
Hideki has always hoped Canon may have its biggest business in China both in business scale and in terms of corporate social responsibility, he said, and desires that, while ensuring effective business development, the company will also give back to society and make Chinese trust and like Canon more.
Hideki came to Beijing in 2005, where he has been ever since. His impression of China is that its society has undergone a great transformation, with new changes every year. From technology and infrastructure development to the rise of e-commerce and growing consumer demand, the country has constantly evolved, and Canon must keep adapting to these shifts, since the market will otherwise give it the cold shoulder. The firm must respond to these changes flexibly to seize new opportunities and keep up with the times, he concluded.
