Canada Begins Sunset Review on Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Measures on Chinese Steel Pile Pipes Canada Begins Sunset Review on Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Measures on Chinese Steel Pile Pipes

(Yicai Global) Sept. 4 -- The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will start a sunset review on anti-dumping and countervailing measures levied against steel pile pipes originating in China, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on its website on Sept. 4.

A sunset or expiry review is initiated before termination of anti-dumping duties and determine whether the expiry of the duty would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping or damage.

The case in question dates back to May 4, 2012, when anti-dumping duties ranging from 72.9 percent to 96.4 percent and countervailing duties between 10.3 percent and 12.3 percent were levied effective from November that year, the ministry said.

The Canadian Border Services Agency also launched an investigation on Aug. 29, and will complete the investigation before Jan. 25, 2018. The trade tribunal will hold a hearing for the case on April 23, 2018, and complete a damage survey before July 4, 2018.
