(Yicai Global) June 4 -- The Chinese market recalled a total of 1.105 million defective cars last month.
Vehicles made by German auto giants Bayerische Motoren Werke and Daimler's Mercedes-Benz marque made up 85.24 percent of them, the Beijing News reported, citing data from the State Administration for Market Regulation, China's industry watchdog.
Mercedes-Benz recalled 622,800 vehicles in May, while BMW's tally was 319,100.
These cars included both domestically-made and imported ones, with the defects mainly involving front shock absorbers and polyvinyl chloride crankcase ventilation heating elements.
