(Yicai Global) May 8 -- New Zealand's Zespri International, the world's largest marketer of kiwifruit, projects two-fold sales volume in China, its biggest market, by 2025. 

Zespri's goal is to achieve global sales worth NZD4.5 billion (USD2.9 billion) by 2025, and about one-quarter of that should come from China, Economic Daily reported, citing the Mount Maunganui-headquartered firm. 

When Zespri entered the Chinese market two decades ago, local sales accounted for 2 percent of the firm's global sales and that figure rose to 20 percent last year, Chairman Bruce Cameron told Economic Daily. Zespri sold more than 27 million twenty-foot equivalent units of kiwis in China in 2018, he added. 

Zespri will gradually improve its sales network to offer convenient service to more consumers, said Jiang Shijie, general manager of Zespri's China office.
