(Yicai) April 14 -- The fifth China International Consumer Products Expo, which boasts more exhibitors and brands than last year’s event, got underway in southern Hainan province yesterday.

More than 4,100 brands from 71 countries and regions are taking part in this year’s expo, which runs from April 13 to April 18 at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center. This includes 65 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders.

The expo spans more than 160,000 square meters and focuses on emerging consumer sectors such as digital consumption, health products and eco-friendly goods.

This year, for the first time, the expo has introduced dedicated zones for artificial intelligence and the low-altitude economy. More than 20 leading global companies in the consumer electronics and cutting-edge technology sectors are showcasing their latest innovations such as home service robots, wellness devices, cloud computing technologies and smart home security.

This year’s guest of honor is the United Kingdom, which is exhibiting almost double the number of brands than it did last year at 53. Spanning an exhibition area of more than 1,300 square meters, the UK pavilion focuses on five main areas, namely beauty and personal care, fashion, health products, lifestyle goods and outdoor sports gear.
