(Yicai Global) Jan. 5 -- Beijing Railway Station plans to install six automated face scanning ticket checking machines to reduce the demand for manual inspections and improve efficiency, Legal Evening News reported.
They are set to enter operation before the Chinese New Year to help smooth travel.
The station already has four automatic ticket checking machines.
The Chinese New Year travel rush typically last about 40 days, covering the holiday as well as some time before and after. Passengers made a record-breaking 357 million trips on China's railways during the period last year.
