(Yicai Global) Sept. 19 -- The Beijing government has ejected some 998 manufacturing companies from its city bounds since it toughened its stance on polluters early last year, Chen Tian, director of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, said today.

The capital will continue to banish polluting firms and upgrade industrial areas in nearby towns and villages, he added.
