(Yicai Global) Sept. 21 -- Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, located in Yizhuang, the capital's southeastern suburb, plans to establish 20 technology innovation centers by 2020, state-owned Xinhua News Agency quoted the area's management committee as saying on Sept. 20.
The development area will form seven internationally-competitive industrial clusters for innovation, each with 10 new companies and an annual output of CNY10 billion (USD1.52 billion), 80 rapidly-growing innovative companies and 20 national- and municipal-level technology centers.
There are currently 11 technology innovation centers in the development area, covering such fields as genetic technology, artificial intelligence, intelligent cars, intelligent manufacturing and unmanned systems.
The area, developed by municipal government-operated Beijing E-Town, will serve as the main foundation for the capital's transformation and development, together with Zhongguancun Science City, Huairou Science City and Future Science City, said management committee member Sheng Licheng.
