(Yicai Global) Dec. 12 -- Qian Fengsheng, a former associate professor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics accused of sexual misconduct, has been expelled from China's Enterprise Accounting Standards Advisory Committee, the country's Ministry of Finance said in a statement it released on its website today.
Qian no longer meets the requirements for serving as a member of the panel, per the statement. The university had already given Qian his walking papers amid an ongoing police investigation into his alleged sexual harassment.
A female postgraduate student from the university's School of Accounting posted a note along with a recording and a chat screenshot on Tencent Holdings' WeChat messaging app on Dec. 6 claiming that Qian, who is on the department's faculty, had interacted inappropriately with her, according to multiple media reports.
