(Yicai) Feb. 17 -- The vice general manager of Chinese vaccine maker BCHT Biotechnology has resigned due to personal reasons.

Yu Bing, who was also a director, will no longer hold any roles at the company, BCHT Biotech announced on Feb. 15. He has worked at the firm for 11 years, mainly overseeing marketing, with his previous posts including district manager and sales director, it added.

Yu's marketing responsibilities have been smoothly transitioned, ensuring that the team continues to operate normally, the Changchun-based company noted, adding that his departure will not adversely affect production and operations.

BCHT Biotech focuses on researching, developing, producing, and selling vaccines, with varicella, nasal spray influenza, and shingles jabs among its approved products.

However, BCHT Biotech faces financial challenges. It expects net profit to have tumbled 52 percent to 60 percent to between CNY200 million and CNY240 million (USD27.6 million and USD33.1 million) in the 12 months ended Dec. 31 from the year before, with its revenue also likely to have plunged, it said last month.

Shares of BCHT Biotech [SHA: 688276] climbed 0.4 to CNY24.06 (USD3.32) each as of 2.20 p.m. in Shanghai today, after earlier jumping by as much as 2.6 percent.
