(Yicai Global) Oct.20 -- Germany's largest industrial group Bayer AG [ETR:BAYN] has reached an agreement with Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd.'s [NYSE:BABA] Alibaba Health Information Technology Ltd. [HKG:0241] to work on new media and retail channels, e-commerce news portal Ebrun reported yesterday.
The scope of the collaboration will include innovative content to promote Bayer at major annual events such as the Singles' Day shopping festival, China's version of the Black Friday sales.
In terms of new retail channels, the two parties will promote Bayer's self-care products in rural areas through e-commerce platform Taobao, as well as through online and offline interaction with the help of the Chinese medicine O2O Association.
The company will provide online ordering and fast delivery of Bayer's products and establish a cross-border e-commerce ecosystem utilizing Alibaba Health's and Tmall's overseas flagship stores.
Bayer's Health Products Division opened an official flagship store on Alibaba's e-commerce platform Tmall as early as 2016 to sell health products.
