(Yicai Global) July 5 -- German chemical giant BASF is revealing the miracle of science to Shanghai's children through its annual summer program.
Running from July 3 to 11, the event's themes this year are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table, plastics sorting for recycling, and measurement of vitamin C levels in various fruit juices.
Starting in 1997 in the company's home city of Ludwigshafen, the lab seeks to open the eyes of children aged 6 to 12 years to the wonders of chemistry by conducting simple experiments.
BASF brought the program to Shanghai in 2005 and thus far more than 80,000 local children have benefited from the pop science activity.
