(Yicai Global) Dec. 17 -- Baidu will begin mass producing its Kunlun 2 artificial intelligence chip next year, its chief technical officer told the 2020 ABC Summit that runs in the Chinese capital today.
The Beijing-based tech giant has already produced over 20,000 of its Kunlun 1 chips, Wang Haifeng said at the company event, which focuses on AI, Big Data and cloud computing.
Baidu announced the launch of Kunlun, China's first cloud-to-edge AI chip, in 2018. It can be applied in both cloud and edge scenarios, such as data centers, public clouds and autonomous vehicles.
The company’s shares [NASDAQ: BIDU] rose 2.6 percent to USD190.40 yesterday. The stock has gained over 50 percent this year.
