(Yicai Global) May 7 -- The automotive technology exhibition area will be the largest at the Consumer Electronics Show Asia 2019.
It will be double that of last year, its organizers today said at a press briefing in Shanghai, adding that the expanded area will be used to showcase advanced technologies that improve driver safety and human-car interaction.
More than 60 auto technology companies worldwide, including Audi, Honda Motor, Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors and Nissan Motor will appear at the two major indoor exhibition areas.
The exhibition, which will run from June 11 to June 13 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, will showcase AI, fifth-generation mobile network, auto technologies and worldwide start-ups, with 550 exhibitors, 125 of them start-ups, expected to take part.
The CES Asia 2019 will see some new faces, among them German auto giant Volkswagen and Beijing-based Mobvoi Information Technology will stage their debut to showcase the latest development in Volkswagen cars' integration with artificial intelligence.
Inceptio Technology will showcase a new generation of autonomous driving technology for trucks and transport services. Other new exhibitors include Denso, Hongqi, Great Wall Motors, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Hyundai Mobis and Polestar.
The 3M Company, Baidu, Bose, Continental, NIRA Dynamics, OnStar, Opus Microsystems, Smart Eye and United Electronics will participate in the show again.
Unlike the Shanghai Auto Show 2019 that focused more on consumers, CES Asia 2019 applies a business-to-business model that fosters cooperation between companies and industries.
The two exhibitions are both important, but have different purposes, Karen Chupka, executive vice president of the Consumer Electronics Show of the Consumer Technology Association, told Yicai Global.
CES is an annual trade show the Consumer Technology Association hosts in January in Las Vegas, Nevada.
