(Yicai Global) Nov. 3 -- As of Nov. 2016, iPhone users in China will be able to use Alipay, Alibaba's mobile payment service to pay for purchases in Apple's App Store.
In the third quarter, China became the largest App Store market for iPhone and iPad, logging a total revenue of USD1.7 billion from relevant businesses, hitting a new all-time high.
China has surpassed the US market, which had been the biggest global market for iOS applications since 2010, reported App Annie, a smartphone application market research agency.
In the past, Chinese iPhone users had to buy apps, top up their accounts or pay for iTunes subscriptions using credit cards with UnionPay enabled. The news has been confirmed by both Apple and Alipay.
