(Yicai Global) Nov. 22 -- Wang Jian, director of Chinese tech titan Alibaba Group Holding's technology committee, has been elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the organization announced today.

Wang, who joined Alibaba in 2008, was named to the post for his contribution in leading the successful development of Feitian, China's only home-made cloud computing operating system.

Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians are the stars and elite among Chinese scientists.
