(Yicai Global) April 24 -- Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing and data intelligence arm of Hangzhou-based tech titan Alibaba Group Holding, has been named first in Asia Pacific market share for Infrastructure as a Service and Infrastructure Utility Services for two straight years in a report by a leading market research firm.

Alibaba Cloud snatched a market share of 19.6 percent last year, Stamford, Connecticut-based Gartner found, 4.7 percentage points higher than in 2017. The cloud businesses of Amazon and Microsoft took second and third place, with market share of 11 percent and 8 percent, respectively.

Alibaba Cloud only took 4.9 percent of the global market, however, behind Amazon and Google.
