(Yicai Global) Oct. 27 -- Cainiao Network Technology Co., a smart logistics provider under e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], and Qingdao Ririshun Logistics Co., a courier backed by home appliance giant Haier Electronics Group Co. [HKG:1169], have entered a partnership to speed up deliveries of oversized products using automatic warehousing and other intelligent technologies in the run-up to the Nov. 11 Singles' Day shopping festival, China's version of the Black Friday sales, online media outlet Huanqiu reported yesterday.

Cainiao Network provides intelligent logistics operations for small- to medium-sized goods through automated warehousing systems across the country, while Ririshun Logistics is a leader in the oversized goods delivery sector.

Ririshun uses a 200,000-square-meter warehouse equipped with fully automated systems, wherein programed robots perform all goods handling, shelving and storage operations without any manual input.

The logistics firms jointly developed the warehousing automation technology, which can significantly improve the efficiency of deliveries and distribution of large-size products such as televisions sets, refrigerators and washing machines.

The pair have also set up dozens of front-end warehouses designed to handle frequent restocking of popular products to serve as an extension to traditional first- and second-class warehouses.
