(Yicai Global) Jan. 25 -- Leshi Internet Information and Technology Corp. may sell its Beijing headquarters to repay some of its debts, with Aier Eye Hospital Group Co., China's largest private chain of ophthalmic institutions, reportedly interested in a CNY1 billion (USD156.5 million) deal.
Aier Eye Hospital, based in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan province, may look to convert the building into a medical institution, 21st Century Business Herald cited an industry insider as saying yesterday.
LeEco Group founder Jia Yueting took over the 20,000 square-meter property in 2014, acquired the foregoing building, of which the total area covers 20,000 square meters. Leshi Holdings mortgaged the building as it sought a CNY 1.4 billion loan from asset management firm Zhongzhi Enterprise Group and the pledge is still in effect.
Leshi's stocks resumed trading yesterday after a nine-month suspension. Its price fell 9.98 percent, hitting the single-day limit for decline and closing at CNY13.8 per share.
Aier Eye Hospital pooled CNY1.72 billion in funds through the issuance of 62 million shares through private placement. The firm will use these funds for the construction of its headquarter building, the company previously said in a press briefing.
