(Yicai Global) Feb. 8 -- A recent meeting between China's commerce ministry and agri-products import and export enterprises and trade bodies was not related to recent trade friction between the US and China, the government said.
The meeting was held to determine current market conditions for agri-product industries, as well as explore the possible impacts of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on products like soybeans and cotton, said Gao Feng a spokesperson at China's commerce ministry in a regular press briefing.
Some agri-product enterprises did bring up possible challenges related to trade between China and the U.S. during the meeting, with some producers expressing concerns regarding their impact on imported products, he said.
MOFCOM has been working hard to encourage China's enterprises to actively carry out international cooperation, turn competition into a mutually beneficial relationship, and resolve differences through greater collaboration, Gao added.
