(Yicai Global) Oct. 17 -- Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co. has selected Jiangsu province-based Suzhou Chunqing Precision Mechanical Co.'s [SHE:002547] anti-interference filters as part of its supply chain, the latter said on an interactive investor communication platform.

Chunxing confirmed the news after an investor asked through the Shenzhen Stock Exchange interactive platform whether its products were core 5G components and were going to be used by Huawei.

The firm has been researching and developing 5G products since 2016, and has plans to release them based on market and customer demand in due time, it added.

The filters are used to cut back on interference and noise to ensure normal operation of communications devices. 4G smartphones need around 30 filters, but the introduction of 5G will bring about larger demand for parts.

Chunxing was established in 2001 in Suzhou Industrial Park. It engages in the research and development of communications systems and equipment, automotive precision components and other products. Its customers include international electronics giants Samsung Electronics Co. [KRX:005930] and Siemens AG [ETR:SIE;BMV:SIEN].
