(Yicai Global) July 6 -- China has established a roundtable conference to ensure the stable development of foreign-funded enterprises in the country.
Representatives from 12 companies, including drugmakers GE Healthcare, Novo Nordisk, Bayer, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Roche, AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Takeda Pharmaceutical, and Pfizer, yesterday attended the first conference, chaired by Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, the ministry announced on its website.
Officials from the finance ministry, the National Intellectual Property Administration, the National Healthcare Security Administration, and the National Medical Products Administration also attended the meeting.
The commerce ministry will regularly organize such roundtable events to expand its channels to listen to companies' concerns and solve their issues to support the long-term and stable development of foreign-invested enterprises in China.
Wang stated that the Chinese government consistently attaches great importance to attracting foreign investment and has continuously been improving its business environment. Evidently, in 2020, the commerce ministry formed a special work group for key foreign investment projects. Over the past three years, a total of 17 conferences have been held with various foreign-funded enterprises to solve problems.
