(Yicai Global) June 16 -- Eve Energy, the third-biggest global seller of batteries used in energy storage systems, has gained another big order in the United States as American Battery Solutions, a maker of systems to store renewable energy, booked nearly 13.4 gigawatt-hours of batteries from the Chinese firm.
The Chinese manufacturer inked a master purchase agreement with ABS to deliver square lithium iron phosphate batteries to the Detroit-headquartered company, the Guangdong province-based firm said in a statement yesterday. The pair will agree on other details later.
The lithium battery company has been improving its performance lately as a day before the news, Eve Energy announced a 10 GWh deal with another US company.
Signing the agreement with ABS is conducive to establishing long-term and stable cooperation between the two parties, giving full play to their respective resources and advantages, and consolidating and enhancing Eve Energy’s International influence in the energy storage market, it said.
Eve Energy sold 9.5 GW of energy storage batteries last year, up nearly 10 times from a year earlier. The firm was the world's third-largest vendor of such products after Contemporary Amperex Technology and BYD, according to data from SNE Research.
