(Yicai Global) June 6 -- China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and mobile network operator China Telecom debuted the country's first national platform for scheduling computing power.

The National Integrated Computing Power and Network Scheduling Platform, unveiled yesterday, has been linked up to various computing power resources, including Tianyi Cloud, Huawei Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud.

Computing power in China is diverse and has a different architecture, so it needs to be connected to create an accessible nationwide network that can be used like water and electricity, said Li Jie, deputy head of the cloud computing and Big Data research institute at the CAICT.

The platform pools multiple computing power resources, including general, intelligent, high-performance, and edge computing power, noted Xiao Qing, assistant chief engineer at China Telecom Shanghai.

It can design a heterogeneous resource pool scheduling engine based on clients' needs to achieve a dynamic perception and smart distribution of computing power scheduling of different resource pools from different developers, Xiao pointed out.

Local governments, including those of Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen, recently released plans to promote the construction of computing power infrastructure. On May 31, Shenzhen unveiled a plan to advance the development of artificial intelligence, aiming to build a city-level intelligent computing power platform.

Computing power-related stocks have gained on Chinese mainland markets since last month, with eight jumping over 20 percent. Tongfu Microelectronics [SHE: 002156] and Shenzhen Sunwin Intelligent [SHE: 300044] surged the most in May, soaring nearly 41 percent and 34 percent, respectively.
