(Yicai Global) May 31 -- Sungrow Power Supply said the Chinese new energy giant will supply storage systems to the 138 megawatts/330 MW-hours Templers project in South Australia, the state’s largest independent energy storage project.
Sungrow and partner Shanxi Electric Power Construction, a unit of new energy infrastructure giant China Energy Engineering, recently signed a deal with Zen Energy, the Australian firm in charge of the Templers project, Hefei-based Sungrow said yesterday.
The Templers project has received its generator performance standards letter from the Australian Energy Market Operator and will be completed next year.
Zen Energy hopes the project can lay a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation with Sungrow in Australia, the Chinese firm cited Zen Energy’s Vice President Lu Yinghao as saying.
Energy storage was Sungrow’s third-largest business last year, accounting for a quarter of its revenue. The company delivered 7.7 gigawatt-hours of energy storage systems in 2022, with sales up 222.74 percent to CNY10.1 billion (USD1.4 billion).
Sungrow [SHE: 300274] ended down 0.4 percent at CNY110.14 (USD15.50) a share in Shenzhen today. The wider market fell 0.7 percent.
