(Yicai Global) May 16 -- Chen Hao, founder of Chinese cloud computing service provider MegaEase, has passed away at the age of 47, resulting in a wave of fan condolences.
Chen, who was widely known in the Chinese tech community and GitHub, died of illness on May 13. Developers and followers have left comments on his social media and blog accounts in his memory, Yicai Global learned.
"It is like I lost a teacher I’ve had for years... His dedication to technologies and his insights have been influential to me," a netizen said.
Chen had over 20 years of experience in financial architecture and the internet industry. He used to work for Amazon China, Alibaba Group Holding, and Thomson Reuters. In 2017, he co-founded Beijing-based MegaEase which received tens of millions of yuan in investment from venture capital firm 10Fund.
Chen was widely known in the industry for his dedication to technical architecture and cloud-native technologies, a senior developer told Yicai Global, adding that Chen was willing to share his expertise and respond to requests for advice from a new generation of developers, even when getting emails from strangers.
