(Yicai Global) May 9 -- Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, is calling for content creators to be transparent about the use of artificial intelligence tools on the platform.
Content creators, live streamers, users, and advertisers on Douyin should mark AI-generated content with an appropriate label provided by the platform, the short-video application operated by Beijing-based ByteDance announced on WeChat today. Moreover, Douyin will ask owners of avatars to register with a real name from today to protect such virtual identities, it added.
Regulators around the world are keeping an eye on the viral spread of content generated by ChatGPT, a chatbot developed by OpenAI. Last month, the Cyberspace Administration of China issued a draft of rules to require AIGC works to be true and accurate and abide by the laws and regulations.
Douyin added that AIGC publishers should be responsible for any consequences caused by their videos, and they are not allowed to create or publish any content that violates intellectual property rights or scientific principles or spreads rumors.
