Major e-commerce platforms including Pinduoduo, Taobao, Douyin, Kuaishou and JD.com are canceling their“refund only” policies, where customers can get their money back without returning the products, following Alibaba’s e-marketplace 1688 which scrapped the policy last month, Beijing Business Daily reported today. After discussions with regulators, the platforms are preparing to announce the change to protect merchants.
