(Yicai Global) Nov. 14 -- E-commerce platforms and express companies in China have now surmounted their logistical peak following this year’s Double-11 shopping festival.

Consumption remained strong on Double-11 this year, both domestically, internationally and in cities and rural areas, monitoring data released by the State Post Bureau shows. The express industry faced gargantuan challenges in both delivery volume and service quality on Nov. 11.

Guangzhou Customs reviewed and issued 2,554,000 cross-border e-commerce electronic bills on Nov. 11, three times the figure for the same time last year, with a value of CNY630 million, 3.8 times last year’s figure. Also known as Singles’ Day, Double-11 started as an anti-Valentine’s Day protest by male Chinese college students, but has now morphed into the world’s greatest display of consumerism.
