(Yicai Global) April 12 -- Themed ‘Where the World of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries Converge,’ the Health Industry Summit convenes at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, from April 11 to 14, to stimulate the overall development of the Chinese medical and healthcare market.
The summit serves as a platform for sharing creative thinking and strategic ideas among global businesses, researchers, investment institutions and healthcare professionals. It seeks to inject new impetus into the development of the healthcare industry in policymaking and investment, research and development, manufacturing and distribution, clinical applications and continuing education. More than 160 meetings will be staged during the summit, bringing together some 7,000 exhibitors and 210,000 visitors from over 30 countries and regions.
Founded in 1979 as a semi-annual (spring and fall) trade fair, the CMEF is now the largest exhibition of medical equipment and relevant products and services in the Asia-Pacific region. Each fair attracts about 4,200 medical equipment manufacturers from 28 countries and regions and 200,000 government and hospital procurement officials and distributors from more than 150 countries and regions worldwide on average.
During the 79th CMEF, alternatively known as the International Component Manufacturing & Design Show (ICMD), scheduled for April 11 to 14, some 4,000 Chinese and foreign exhibitors will attend the event bringing with them more than 10,000 new products. World leading experts and organizations will take part in over 50 high-profile forums, where the discussions will center on the Era of Medical Digitalization.
More than 10,000 products will be exhibited ranging from medical imaging, in vitro diagnosis, electronics, optics and first aid devices to rehabilitation nursing, mobile health, medical services, hospital construction, medical information technology and wearables. This is almost an exhaustive list of all the products and businesses found in the medical equipment industry chain.
PharmChina is one of the most authoritative, oldest and largest medical trade fairs encompassing pharmaceutical preparations, technologies and services. The spring PharmChina this year attracted more than 2,000 pharmaceutical companies and over 100,000 distributors and sellers from across China.
Officially known as the 79th PharmChina and the seventh China Health and Nutrition Expo, the trade fair is divided into several dedicated sections -- health foods, healthy food/imported functional foods, functional beverages, formula foods for special medical purposes, traditional nourishing health care, technology and services (registration/transfer/OEM), anti-aging products (beauty/ cosmetics), probiotics, birds’ nests/ginseng/lucid ganoderma.
The fair offers dealmaker services and has invited ‘special buyers’ from retail and overseas organizations -- pharmaceutical professionals invited by the organizers who are interested in purchasing specific products. More than 300 representatives from professional distributors, pharmacy chain stores and e-commerce platforms participated in over 200 ‘matchmaking’ sessions with special buyers at the last PharmChina show, with the total value of deals closed within three months after the fair topping CNY700 million (USD111 million).
