Ford's China Lincoln Business Taps EVP Zhu Meijun as New President Ford's China Lincoln Business Taps EVP Zhu Meijun as New President

(Yicai Global) Sept. 28 -- Lincoln China has promoted Executive Vice President Zhu Meijun to president of Ford’s luxury marque in China following a successful four-year stint by her predecessor.

Zhu takes over from Mao Jingbo who has resigned for personal reasons, Ford Motor China said in a statement yesterday. She will report to Chen Anning, Ford China’s president and chief executive, and Joy Falotico, president at Lincoln.

Before joining Lincoln, Zhu was marketing VP and sales director at Changan Ford Automobile, a Ford and Changan Automobile joint venture, chief executive and general manager of Mazda Motor's sales arm in Taiwan, and worked at Ford Motor Asia Pacific and Ford Lio Ho Motor.

Mao joined Lincoln China in 2018. During her tenure as president, the automaker began making localized products, expanding its product range while increasing sales. She was also committed to promoting digital transformation and brand rejuvenation.

Lincoln’s sales in China improved during Mao's time at the helm. It sold 90,000 vehicles last year, up nearly 50 percent from 2020, while sales at luxury rivals such as Audi and Mercedes-Benz fell. In 2018, Lincoln had sold 55,315 units in China, far less than second-tier luxury brands like Cadillac, Lexus, and Volvo.
